The San Marco Chamber Music Society held its sixth annual appreciation celebration for its donors at the home of board member Marjorie Broward on Jan. 12. Eric and Ellen Olson, the music directors of the Society, along with Steve Merrill, principal percussionist for the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, performed a short concert sampler of the Society’s music series at the fundraising event. The nonprofit organization raised $2,686 for diabetes research last fall at the first of five concerts in its 2013-2014 season. The next concert will take place Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at 3976 Hendricks Ave.
