Aviation company promotes STEM education at Stockton Elementary

Aviation System Engineering Company (ASEC) employees recently visited John N.C. Stockton Elementary School to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) related education.  The 30-minute program on unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), often called drones, discussed how they fly and some of their uses such as helping farmers and supporting public safety. ASEC UAS pilot Jared Victory expertly maneuvered a small quadcopter inside the school, providing a short flight demonstration while an onboard camera streamed live video to a projection screen.  The students were impressed by an electronic claw attached to another UAS as it opened and closed remotely with one student exclaiming, “That could be used to drop medical stuff to people!”
