St. Mark’s Episcopal Day School participated in the North Florida Independent School Athletic Conference (NFISAC) league with two Junior Varsity boys’ teams, two Varsity boys’ teams, and one Varsity girls’ team. The teams practiced twice a week and played games against Jacksonville Country Day School, Beaches Episcopal Day School, and San Jose Episcopal Day School. The Varsity Blue Boys Basketball team won the tournament and the Junior Varsity Blue team finished third. The Varsity girls’ team won the tournament, beating Jacksonville Country Day School by six points.

According to St. Mark’s P.E. Teacher and Varsity Coach Taylor Harnden, winning games wasn’t the only thing important to these student athletes. “Our teams showed a big improvement in sportsmanship and team play. And, it wasn’t just on the basketball court, it was also reflected during their school day.”
