Timuquana Road at Roosevelt Boulevard railroad crossing to temporarily close

Timuquana Road (State Road 134) is scheduled to close in both directions in the immediate area of the railroad crossing just west of Roosevelt Boulevard (U.S. 17) from August 10-16 while the crossing is replaced.

The road closes Monday, August 10, at 7 a.m. and is scheduled to reopen Sunday, August 16 by 7 p.m. The reopening date can change due to rain or other unforeseen conditions. The road can be reopened early if the work is completed ahead of schedule. Call 888-558-1518 for updates on the reopening.

Drivers traveling west on Timuquana Road will be detoured to Roosevelt Boulevard, San Juan Avenue and Blanding Boulevard. Drivers traveling east on Timuquana Road will be detoured to Blanding Boulevard, San Juan Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard. Law enforcement officers will assist with the road closure and detour.

CSX Transportation, Inc. will replace the existing railroad crossing with a concrete crossing designed to last longer and hold up better under heavy traffic. Crews will resurface the area once the crossings are replaced.

An average of 21,000 vehicles travel this section of Timuquana Road daily.
