Groundbreaking, renaming of Commander site scheduled

A groundbreaking for Chance Partners LLC apartment complex on the site of the former St. Johns Village is scheduled for Wednesday, July 12 at 11 a.m. at which time the new name of the development will be released.

The 228-unit development – comprised of 88 units in the 16-story Commander and 140 units in six new structures – is expected to be ready for occupancy next summer, according to Jeff Rosen, Chance Partners LLC principal.

Currently, LandSouth Construction LLC is the contractor for the $10.1 million Commander renovation project at 3946 St. Johns Avenue. The tower has been essentially gutted and is awaiting a new façade as well as interior work.

All units will be managed by Pegasus Residential.
