Shindig shines for Sanctuary’s 25th

The 25th Annual Sanctuary Shindig could not have had a more appropriate theme – Keep Shining – held 10 days after Hurricane Irma darkened the skies. Over 200 attended the casual evening of music by Junco Royals, and food by Bono’s and Pastiche Catering. New products from Pallets With a Purpose, and an auction, including 14 hand painted chairs by local artists, were among the many activities that evening at the Garden Club of Jacksonville Sept. 22.

The annual Avondale 5K Classic, usually held the following morning, was postponed until Oct. 7. Proceeds raised from both events will keep the Springfield-based mission’s doors open for underprivileged children in the urban core. To learn more visit www.sanctuaryon8th.org.
