I-95 Southbound Traffic Shift begins Jan. 13 on Overland Bridge

Southbound Interstate 95 traffic will shift into a new configuration just south of the San Marco Boulevard exit Saturday, January 13 beginning at 8 p.m., weather and schedule permitting. Motorists should be advised this is a major traffic shift and will alter the way they exit onto the Atlantic Boulevard and U.S. 1 (Philips Highway) exits.

Interstate 95 southbound will now become two roadways after the Fuller Warren Bridge. Three left lanes will be for southbound I-95 traffic. The right lane, immediately after the San Marco Boulevard exit on the Fuller Warren Bridge, will be the only way to access the service road to take Atlantic Boulevard and U.S. 1 (Philips Highway) exits.

Motorists traveling southbound on Interstate 95 will use the left three lanes on the Fuller Warren Bridge and continue onto the newly constructed southbound roadway.

Traffic wanting to access Atlantic Boulevard or U.S 1 (Philips Highway) will need to utilize the right travel lane immediately after the San Marco Boulevard exit as they leave the Fuller Warren Bridge. The right lane will allow motorists to access Atlantic Boulevard’s left exit and Philips Highway’s right exit options.

If a motorist misses the exit to Atlantic Boulevard or U.S. 1 (Philips Highway), they will need to continue southbound to Emerson Street where they can exit.

FDOT will have advanced signage posted to alert motorists of this traffic shift just after the San Marco Boulevard exit on the Fuller Warren Bridge.

As this new split will require motorists to make a new decision that did not exist before, travelers should stay alert, read the visual message boards, overhead signs and follow the posted speed limit through the construction zone. FDOT strives for safe construction zones. Motorists are encouraged to watch for additional signs.

Up-to-date lane closure information is available on the project website at www.i95overlandbridge.com. A project hotline number and email have been established to assist the public with questions and concerns: 904-491-2110 or [email protected].
