Instructor: Mitch Lyons

Students will learn to make mono prints from a slab of clay using colored clay and slips, not ink. We use a wooden rolling pin as our press, and a canvass like paper to pull the prints.

After each student rolls out their own wet slab [15 x 20] they begin to apply wet colored slips.

While the slabs are getting leather hard, Mitch will demonstrate his unique, non toxic, simple but sophisticated clay mono printing process. In the afternoon of the first day students will add more colored slip, textures and colored clays to their slab.

Sunday, Mitch will give another demonstration and review of yesterday’s work.

Each student usually prints about 3 or 4 clay mono prints during the two-day weekend workshop.
