Giving Our River a Voice

Speaker: Lisa Rinaman, St Johns Riverkeeper

Clean water is the lifeblood of the St. Johns River and its tributaries. Our wetlands, forests, riparian zones adjacent to waterways, and aquatic plants provide the habitat and food sources that sustain healthy plant, fish, and wildlife populations. Unfortunately, the ecological health and integrity of the St. Johns River system is threatened due to years of neglect and the cumulative impacts of a growing population.

St. Johns Riverkeeper Lisa Rinaman will discuss the issues and challenges facing our St. Johns River today, and what we can do to help protect and restore the health of the river.

St. Johns Riverkeeper is a privately funded organization that fights on behalf of the St. Johns River and the public to whom it belongs. Their mission is to be an independent voice that defends, advocates, and activates others for the protection and restoration of the St. Johns River.
