Big Brothers Big Sisters “Beyond School Walls” Mentoring

Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida and Samuel W. Wolfson High School launched “Beyond School Walls” on Dec. 7 at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront.
Beyond School Walls is a workplace mentoring partnership that paired 21 Hyatt employees with 21 students for one-to-one mentoring. The mentoring partnership will take place one day each month throughout the school year. The students will be transported to Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront—which is unique since typically the mentors travel to the school—to eat lunch with their mentors to discuss school, goals, family and other aspects important in a child’s life.
The first event included a training session for students to learn about the different hotel departments.
