A blessing and dedication ceremony for the newest unit in St. Vincent’s mobile clinic fleet was held April 3 at the Daily’s convenience store, 4225 Roosevelt Blvd.
The Daily’s Mobile Health Clinic is a brand new “doctor’s office on wheels” with bi-lingual physicians and nurses that will travel throughout the region to serve uninsured children and their families who are medically under-served. This Clinic, like the others in the program, will offer services ranging from providing school children immunizations and school or sports physicals to health screenings, diagnostic testing and disease management for adults.
Last year, St. Vincent’s Mobile Health Outreach Ministry provided more than 31,000 free adult and pediatric services to nearly 15,000 patients. Among those, 26 percent were from rural areas, 18 percent were inner-city working poor and 56 percent were children living in low-income neighborhoods.
For the last five years, Daily’s THE TRADITION golf tournament at TPC Sawgrass has raised funds to purchase this new St. Vincent’s Mobile Health Clinic and support some of the program costs.
