Exceeding expectations – just like the life of Jared Bynum – the organizers and sponsors of the Mt. Acosta Classic were able to present a check last month that was well in excess of $11,000 to the Rev. Gary Webber, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, where the Jared Bynum Scholarship Fund is administered.
Each $5,000 scholarship will benefit former Landon Students who participated in the Southside Mentoring Program, go on to complete high school in four years and are accepted and attend a college or trade school. The class of 2014 will be the first to qualify for the scholarship. Anyone wishing to donate money to the fund should make the checks payable to Southside Baptist Church, 1435 Atlantic Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207, with Jared Bynum Scholarship Fund printed in the memo line. All funds are tax deductible.
