Local celebs raise nearly $70,000 for Jacksonville Children’s Chorus

Event grosses over $120,000 in total

The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus was the real winner at the Jacksonville’s Dancing With the Stars fundraiser on May 3. The event, which grossed over $122,000, featured performances by local celebrities partnered with professional dancers from A Social Affair Dance Studio and the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus choirs.
Florida Blue Foundation Vice President Susan Towler, with pro partner Markus Thiesen of A Social Affair Dance Studio, took home the first place mirror ball trophy. She raised over $30,000 and received a combined dancing score of a perfect 30 for her disco routine.

“A huge thank you to my friends and supporters for voting me as the Dancing with the Stars champion!” said Towler. “I could feel their energy and enthusiasm in the audience while performing our hustle. I strongly encourage people to take up ballroom dancing – you will feel like a star!”
Second place went to Susan DuBow, philanthropist and former entertainment publicist, who raised over $18,000 and received a dance score of 28. Faith Harman, Compass Consulting Group product manager, placed third raising over $19,000 and scoring a 26 for her dance.
