Benefit concert for traffic accident survivor
Ari Howard, a freshman at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, is organizing a Super Benefit Concert on behalf of neighbor Orly Ohayon who, along with her mother Esther, was struck by a car on San Jose Boulevard on their way to Yom Kippur worship on Sept. 13, 2013. While Orly, 17, mourns the loss of her mother, she requires a great deal of medical attention and proceeds from the concert will help pay the mounting medical bills.
The benefit on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. will showcase world-renowned classical guitarist Dr. Stephen Robinson and singer/songwriter Mike Shackelford. Entertainment includes folk singer Al Poindexter on the banjo and bottleneck guitar and 2012 Florida State Harmonica Champion Eric Wendorf. The program will include a silent auction and refreshments at The Jacksonville Jewish Center, 3662 Crown Point Road. Suggested minimum donation is $20.
