Hearts for giving, sneakers for comfort

The 2015 American Heart Association Tuxes and Tennis Shoes Heart Ball raised nearly $500,000 when it was held Mar. 2, at the Sawgrass Marriott. This year’s event, chaired by Moody Chisholm, president and CEO of St. Vincent’s HealthCare, honored Mel and Debbie Gottlieb for their dedication to the cause. Many leaders from local health care companies turned out to support this year’s focus on children’s health and childhood obesity.

The event, which annually features a VIP reception, dinner, auction and dancing, raises funds for research and programs that help fulfill the mission of the American Heart Association – to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and strokes.
