Emergency Sewer Work on Park Street

JEA will be replacing a failing 8-inch sanitary sewer line on Park Street from Post Street to the I-95 overpass (across from Riverside Park). Construction will occur along the City of Jacksonville’s streets & rights-of-way. Work will be completed in the evenings from 7 PM to 6 AM to avoid heavy traffic periods. The project dates will be from Sunday, Dec. 6 through Saturday morning, Dec. 12 (weather permitting).

Informational electronic message boards will be installed Dec. 5-6 with work starting on Sunday or Monday evening. The parking lanes will be blocked off and changed into traffic lanes so that the contractor can maintain two-way traffic. The contractor has met with the nearby church (Riverside Presbyterian) and is coordinating the construction with their activities that week.

This sewer installation will be completed using the pipe bursting method of construction that allows for less construction impact to neighborhoods and a shorter overall project duration.
