FREE Pet Adoptions for July 4th Holiday Weekend

The Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) is offering free pet adoptions to anyone wearing patriotic (red, white and/or blue) gear in honor of the July 4th holiday. This special includes waived adoption fees to celebrate pets finding freedom in new, loving homes.

The adoption special, called “Red, White and Rescued”, will run from Friday, July 1st to Monday, July 4th. Adopters wearing patriotic gear will have adoption fees waived to $0 (normally $50-125) for the pet of their choice. This event comes at an opportune time, as local shelters are full and there are many dogs, cats and kittens in need of homes.

The special adoption event will take place at the Jacksonville Humane Society, 8464 Beach Blvd. from Friday, July 1 to Monday, July 4th. The hours are as follows: Friday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday and Monday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Some additional fees, such as a $20 city license fee, may apply. For more information, please visit jaxhumane.org/adopt or call 904-725-8766 and select option 2.
