The Episcopal School of Jacksonville and Bishop Kenny High School became dance partners for an evening at their inaugural Dance Marathon “For the Kids,” a Children’s Miracle Network fundraiser to raise money for Wolfson Children’s Hospital and UF Health Jacksonville.

Over 150 participants stayed on their feet for six hours March 17 at Episcopal’s Buck Center, according to Patrick Patangan, a St. Nicholas resident and student at Bishop Kenny. “We raised $33,020.41, far exceeding our $4,000 goal,” he said.

The money was raised through the Donor Drive website, which allows the funds to go directly to Children’s Miracle Network to buy equipment for the hospitals.

“We are excited that this event was such a success and that we were able to raise such a significant amount of money for such a good cause,” said Patangan.

The Episcopal committee members were Kate McQuiddy, Emily Teems, Audrey McCabe, Connor Murphy, Charlotte Rosenberg and Xander Magevney. Including Patangan, the Bishop Kenny committee included Emma St. John, Andrew McBride, Brooklyn Devenny, Tyler Thompson, Patrick Brennan and Teresa Gutteridge.
