The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)is making progress with the San Jose Boulevard/Hendricks Avenue (State Road 13) from Cornell Road to San Marco Boulevard resurfacing and improvement project that is expected to be complete in spring 2019.

The $5.4 million project includes resurfacing three miles of roadway, restriping the shoulders to provide for new bicycle lanes, and the removal of on-street parking from Dunsford Road to San Marco Boulevard and from Cornell Road to Peachtree Circle North.

Additionally, medians along Hendricks Avenue are being narrowed to provide for the bike lanes; a pedestrian island with audible countdown timers at Hendricks Avenue Elementary School, and similar timers at Ridgeland, Dunsford and River Oaks Roads will be installed, while Emerson Street and Greenridge Road will get new traffic signals in addition to countdown pedestrian timers.
