5 Points group teams up on improvements

Members of a variety of community, arts, church and business organizations gathered at Park and Post streets Tuesday to announce they’d teamed up on projects to improve historic 5 points. City Council Woman Randy DeFoor, D-14, was also there to lend support.

The group, calling itself the 5 Points Collaborative, said it will focus on improving the area streetscape; branding the area and area signage and developing a Post Street dock plan. The dock is to be finished in summer, located between Cummer and the Garden Club of Jax, and bring visitors to 5 points by water taxi.
