Three-peat! Bolles girls’ soccer wins state title
The Bolles girls’ soccer team won its third consecutive state title Feb. 26.

The Bolles girls’ soccer team won its third straight state title, a first in program history, by defeating Miami Carrollton, 3-2, in the Class 3A final in Deland Feb. 26. The championship was the Bulldogs’ fifth in the last six years and ninth overall, and the sixth title win for Head Coach Matt Tracy.

Tied 2-2 at halftime with two goals by Avery Patterson, including a penalty kick to open the scoring, Bolles went ahead with the game winning goal by Alexi Pitt in the 48th minute. The Bulldogs dominated in shots and corner kicks but fought to hold off the Cyclones in the closing minutes to secure the win.

The state title is the third overall for Bolles this school year and the 141st in the school’s history.
