The Jacksonville Alumnae Panhellenic Association (JAPA) was one of only 50 chapters across the country to receive for 2020-21 the Citation of Merit Award and one of 49 chapters to receive the Programming Excellence Award.

These prestigious awards are granted by the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) organization to select Alumnae Panhellenic Associations based on their programming accomplishments, work to build positive relationships with their communities, efforts to promote the sorority experience, submission of the Alumnae Panhellenic annual report, and continued administration of their Alumnae Panhellenic.

NPC is one of the largest organizations advocating for women and is the umbrella group for 26 national and international social sororities.

“Over the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused many disruptions to the operations of Alumnae Panhellenics. We are honored to celebrate these Alumnae Panhellenics and their members for the outstanding work and dedication to the lifelong sorority experience,” said Donna Larson, Chair of the Alumnae Panhellenics Committee.

In addition to receiving awards, JAPA generously donated over $9,500 in scholarships last year to local high school seniors and local University of North Florida and Jacksonville University students, despite the pandemic setbacks.

Community members can learn more about JAPA at JacksonvillePanhellenic.org, on Instagram @JAPA1914, and on Facebook by searching Jacksonville Alumnae Panhellenic Association.
