Mega Adoption Event for Homeless Pets

Mega Adoption Event for Homeless Pets

Homeless_DogLocal shelters and rescues come together for largest adoption event in the country

More than a thousand homeless dogs and cats will be looking for new homes as part of the Mega Adoption event scheduled this weekend. It will take place July 26-28, at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

First Coast No More Homeless Pets (FCNMHP), Jacksonville Animal Care and Protective Services (JACPS), the Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS), and dozens of other animal rescue groups from across Northeast Florida are joining together for this huge event.

Last year’s July Mega Adoption event found homes for 946 homeless pets and the goal is to do the same at this year’s event. The Mega Events are a series of adoption events aimed at emptying out local shelters and rescues to help make our community no kill. These events are the largest adoption events in the country.

Homeless_Cat          The event is sponsored by Best Friends Animal Society and PetSmart Charities. All pets will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. Adoption fee is only $25, military with ID adopt for free.
