This is an ongoing class that meets every Friday for all artists levels. The class will focus on pastels, materials and techniques.

Students will work from a live model and still life setups on a rotating basis using various types of soft pastels and supports. Check our website for the recommended supply list.

Event overview/description:

Park and pick up your ticket and swag bag on the day of the event as early as 11:00am at Riverside Park UMC: 819 Park St, Jacksonville, FL 32204

Our hired shuttle starts promptly at 12pm and will run in a loop during the event, dropping off/picking up at participating shops in Riverside, Avondale, 5 Points and Fairfax where you collect free samples of Food, Drinks, and Gifts! Just show your Passport ticket when you walk into the shop and collect your goodies in your passport bag.

This year we will have TWO incredible ticket options to choose from: (Tickets will go on sale in August!)

**VIP Passport Ticket ($75): Access to the Passport Kick-off Party on Thursday 11/1 from 6-8pm at Fishweir Brewery (hors d’oeuvre’s, live music, drinks) AND Passport to Riverside & Avondale Fundraiser on Saturday, 11/3 from 12-6pm.

*Regular Ticket ($40): Passport to Riverside & Avondale Fundraiser Ticket, 11/3 from 12-6pm.

Temple Sisterhood will again be sponsoring Northeast Florida’s only Mah Jongg tournament on Sunday, November 4. The tournament is open to anyone who plays with a National Mah Jongg League 2018 card for winning hands. Those who play the Chinese version would find it very different and unable to play without one.

With well over 100 players, local participants are joined by others from as far away as Savannah to our north and Orlando to our south. Registration will begin at 11 a.m., followed by lunch.  Tournament will begin at 12:30 p.m. and consist of 3 rounds of 4 games. Prizes and awards will be presented at the conclusion along with numerous door prizes.

The cost of the tournament is $30 and it will take place at Congregation Ahavath Chesed (The Temple) at 8727 San Jose Blvd. in Mandarin, which is just north of Baymeadows. Registration forms may be obtained by calling The Temple at (904) 733-7078 or going to the web site www.thetemplejacksonville.org .

The deadline for registration is October 21. You do not need to be an expert to enjoy an afternoon with other Mah Jongg players.
