The San Marco Centennial Committee hosted an evening with Olympians and San Marco natives Nancy Hogshead, Martin Zubero and Garrett Scantling at An Evening with Our Hometown Heroes.

Held on Thursday, Aug. 14 at 1937 Events and Venue, the evening was a celebration of determination, dedication and community as the three athletes shared their stories, with each highlighting lessons learned, the importance of community and the commitment required to compete against the world’s top athletes.

The evening was a continuation of the Centennial Lecture Series, which kicked off earlier this year.

“It’s been an amazing century in San Marco and honestly the athleticism…and all the wonderful things that are going on in San Marco, you guys were a big part of that,” San Marco Centennial Committee Chairman George Foote said of the evening’s three guest speakers.
