Culligan Water, through its charitable arm, Culligan Cares,  partnered with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) for the second year to support the organization’s local fundraising “Tour de Cure” bicycling events around the country. On Dec. 1, local Culligan dealer, Culligan of Jacksonville donated 175 gallons of water to the St. Augustine Tour de Cure race in an effort to keep participants hydrated and to encourage a healthy lifestyle through clean water.

“It’s no secret that the beverages you drink effect your overall health,” said Sean Bishop, General Manager, Culligan of Jacksonville. “Water has always been a safe and healthy option. Through our support of the American Diabetes Association, we hope to help educate and motivate people to adopt helpful habits to reduce the impact of obesity and type 2 diabetes.”

The Tour de Cure is the largest cycling event for diabetes in the country. Each year, nearly 50,000 people participate in Tour de Cure events in 80 cities across the county, raising nearly $30 million dollars to support the mission. The event is a unique opportunity for businesses, clubs, friends and families to come together to form teams with a vision of a life free of diabetes and all its burdens.

Visitors to the Culligan tent had an opportunity to learn how to ensure the water they drink is clean and safe through water testing and the variety of solutions Culligan offers.
