Last month, St. Paul’s Catholic School Riverside, a Purple Star School of Distinction, celebrated the Month of the Military Child with a full lineup of festivities.

The celebration began with a Mass and special blessing for active-duty and retired service members. Additionally, each class made presentations to inform the student body about the various duties and jobs within the military, including the Navy, Marines, Green Berets, Seals, submariners and more.

The school continued to show up in force for military children within the St. Paul’s Catholic School family and beyond by wearing purple for Purple Up Day on April 15 – a visual show of support created by combining the colors of all the military branches.

Sixth through eighth graders ended the month with a field trip to the USS Orleck, where they had the opportunity to tour the ship and speak with Navy veterans, including one who served on the very ship they were touring. The trip was made possible through funding from the Law Offices of Randy Reep.
