At its annual Member Forum, the Women’s Giving Alliance celebrated the power of collective giving by awarding $675,000 in grants to 10 area nonprofits addressing violence against women and girls.
These grantees were selected from a pool of 60 applicants and awarded either one- or two-year grants based on the size and operating budgets of the organizations, with one-year grants designed specifically for smaller organizations with operating budgets of $250,000 or less.

While the 2026 grant pool was initially $650,000, WGA awarded another $2,500 to each organization in honor of its 25th anniversary. In honor of this quarter-century anniversary, WGA President Sabeen Perwaiz also announced a 1:1 matching campaign from WGA Co-Founder Delores Barr Weaver for donations to the grant pool up to $150,000, which will run until Sept. 30.
Following the ceremony, Perwaiz said she was grateful for this matching campaign, which underscored a greater need in the community.
“There’s always a greater need that we can meet, and it’s wonderful that we have the match from Delores Barr Weaver to be able to add to what our agencies need, because this issue is important,” Perwaiz said.
