Celebrating All Saints
Assumption Catholic School held its annual All Saints’ Day parade on Nov. 1. Students and staff dressed up as their favorite saint and marched in a parade toward the celebratory mass. Families and friends come to campus to join in and watch the highly anticipated procession and festive attire.
The original All Saints Day originated in the year 609, when Pope Boniface IV dedicated the Pantheon in Rome to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Today, All Saints’ Day, also known as All Hallows’ Day is a Christian celebration that honors all the saints of the church, whether known or unknown.
