The Florida Yacht Club hosted 120 teams for its annual Steeg Member-Guest Tennis Tournament, a three-day event held April 17-19. The tournament featured a full lineup of activities for members and guests, including the Saturday Night Players Party with a buffet, drinks and live music.

Board of Governors Chair Elsa Bottomley said the event, launched in 1993 by Director of Racquets Louis Ballantyne with just 25 teams, sold out in less than a minute this year. It was renamed the Steeg Member-Guest Tennis Tournament in 2006 in honor of Stewart B. Steeg, a former commodore of the Florida Yacht Club and avid tennis supporter.

Tom York of CastleWise Realty and Insurance, the tournament’s title sponsor, has been a key supporter of the event in recent years, reflecting his family’s love of tennis and the Florida Yacht Club’s tennis community.
