For a quarter of a century, Nassau County residents have relied on Baptist Medical Center Nassau to provide award-winning medical care close to home.

Since opening 25 years ago, Baptist Nassau has welcomed close to 11,350 new babies into the world and treated more than half a million patients in its Emergency Center. The hospital has performed more than 64,000 patient surgeries and has admitted more than 91,000 patients during the past two-and-a-half decades.

“We are a full-service advanced medical center,” said Hospital President Ed Hubel. “We offer 26 specialties – from maternity to cardiology and everything in between. We’re proud to be the county’s No. 1 choice for health care.”

Baptist Health purchased Nassau General from the county in 1994. Today, Baptist Nassau is A-rated in safety by the Leapfrog Group and among Press Ganey’s top 5 percent of hospitals in the United States for patient satisfaction.

Through the years, Baptist Health has invested more than $130 million in significant upgrades to its campus, technology and services. Campus expansions include a new 30,000-square-foot Surgery Center, a Cardiac Rehabilitation Center, Community Hospice and Palliative Care, and the Berkman Building, which houses 48 spacious patient rooms.

“People who haven’t seen our medical campus are amazed to see how expansive it is,” Hubel said. “We’ll continue to grow to meet the community’s need for comprehensive medical care close to home.”
