Movie Night: Venom @ Bill Brinton Murray Hill Library

Join us for our monthly movie night as we turn our meeting room into a mini movie theater. This month’s featured movie is Venom. Plot synopsis: A journalist becomes the host of an alien symbiote and acquires superhuman abilities – alongside a malevolent and unpredictable alter-ego while investigating the true nature of the secretive experiments conducted by the Life Foundation. Movie is Rated PG-13. Light refreshments will be served.

This program is for children birth to 5 years with an adult caregiver. The program includes stories, books, fingerplays, nursery rhymes, and songs that promote language development, vocabulary building, and comprehension.

Hemming Park Walking Club Kick-off @ Hemming Park

Beginning Thursday, January 10th, join us every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for a fast-paced 30-minute walk in downtown Jacksonville, led by Friends of Hemming Park staff. We will meet near the “Opposing Forces” sculpture in Hemming Park at the corner of  Monroe and Laura Streets. Pastel Drawing Class @ Murray Hill Art Class

This is an ongoing class that meets every Friday for all artists levels. The class will focus on pastels, materials and techniques.

Students will work from a live model and still life setups on a rotating basis using various types of soft pastels and supports. Check our website for the recommended supply list.
