The Taoist Tai Chi Society internal arts and methods incorporate stretching and turning into a sequence of 108 movements that reduce tension, improve circulation and balance and increase strength and flexibility. Often referred to as a moving meditation, this introductory class will cover the first 17 moves and explore other health benefits of Taoist Tai Chi.
All programs are free and open to the public.
This teen program will introduce the life of an unconventional artist and encourage participants to tell their own stories through art. For teens ages 12 – 18. All programs are free and open to the public.

Join the Museum every Tuesday and Thursday for a guided tour of the historic Cummer Gardens, beginning in the Museum lobby.
Beginning Thursday, January 10th, join us every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for a fast-paced 30-minute walk in downtown Jacksonville, led by Friends of Hemming Park staff. We will meet near the “Opposing Forces” sculpture in Hemming Park at the corner of Monroe and Laura Streets. Community Hospice is teaming up with the Florida Council on Aging and Florida Association of Aging Services Providers to host the Regional Aging Advocacy Summit. The community is invited to attend the summit and reception, which will provide an educational opportunity to learn about current funding and legislative changes that impact the elderly. Guests will receive materials with resources to assist them with advocacy efforts.
The summit agenda is as follows:
- Regional Aging Advocacy Summit, 4 to 5:15 p.m. | Margaret Lynn Duggar, Executive Director of the Florida Council on Aging
- Membership Networking Reception, 5:15 to 6 p.m. | Susan Ponder-Stansel, President and CEO of Community Hospice; this networking opportunity is open to current members and guests interested in membership.

Students will learn about the history of segregation in the United States by reading about the Little Rock Nine, a courageous group of students who helped advance educational opportunities for African Americans in the 1950s. For children ages 5 – 12. All programs are free and open to the public.
