Beginning Thursday, January 10th, join us every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for a fast-paced 30-minute walk in downtown Jacksonville, led by Friends of Hemming Park staff. We will meet near the “Opposing Forces” sculpture in Hemming Park at the corner of Monroe and Laura Streets. Our route will change daily, and we will visit a variety of Jacksonville landmarks during this fun, free, twice-weekly event. For more information, email [email protected]

Celebrate National Poetry Month at Poetry Open Mic. Bring an original poem, song or an old favorite. Step up to the mic and share your poetry. Poetry must be appropriate in language and content. Poems must be under three minutes in length. For ages 12 and up.
Jennie is going GREEN in this five weeks long study! You will learn to draw trees – a must for adding them to landscape paintings – AND – you will learn about mixing the many greens we find in nature.

The Jax Harmony Chorus, a Sweet Adelines group, rehearses every Tuesday at 7 p.m. Open houses are held every 4th Tuesday but you are welcome any time! As a member of the chorus, you will belong to a worldwide family of friends who value the joy of singing chord-ringing, fun-filled harmony.
Please join us for this introductory class that will cover the first 17 moves and explore other health benefits of Taoist Tai Chi. Often referred to as “moving meditation,”the Taoist Tai Chi Society® internal arts incorporates stretching and turning in a sequence of 108 movements to reduce tension, improve circulation and balance, and increase strength and flexibility. Free and open to the public.
As the end of another school year approaches, students’ thoughts may turn to what they can give as small gifts to friends and favorite teachers. The San Marco Library is offering a 3-D Printer Pen demonstration, and will show how to create fun crafts for classmates and teachers. This program is intended for teens 13-18.

Books for the Bold is a monthly read-your-own-books discussion group hosted by staff from the Willowbranch Library. Read a book that fits the monthly theme and then come talk about it over coffee at Bold Bean!

This program is for children birth to 5 years with an adult caregiver. The program includes stories, books, fingerplays, nursery rhymes, and songs that promote language development, vocabulary building, and comprehension.
