Five Bishop Kenny High School students representing four Scout troops throughout Jacksonville achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, scouting’s highest honor: Nick Martin, Keegan Gallup, Kolbe Sexton, Brody Cooper and Zach Crutchfield.

One of the main pillars of attaining the rank of Eagle Scout is the planning, development and completion of a significant service project. This year, the young men built projects ranging from butterfly and rock gardens to benches and picnic tables. The largest project involved installing a 20-by-8 adaptive climbing wall in a specially designed classroom that will be used by more than 75 elementary students.

The materials were funded through donations and the labor was provided by the young men as part of their service project. Additional support came from Assumption, Resurrection, and St. John the Baptist Catholic Churches, Neptune Beach Elementary School and the Italian American Society.
