Many cancers are potentially preventable by diet and other lifestyle choices, according to recent studies. JAX Cooking Studio’s Cancer Series discusses foods recognized as cancer-starving. We teach you how to prepare meals that are tasty and simple using these foods. And we review tips for maintaining nutrition during cancer treatment. Each hands-on class will be co-taught by a cancer nutrition specialist and a chef skilled in culinary nutrition.

Be an active participant in your health!

Class 1 (September 12): Eating to Reduce Cancer Risk
Class 1 will discuss recent cancer research related to diet and other lifestyle choices. We will identify foods that have the most powerful preventative effect on cancer and show you how these foods can be prepared to be just as tasty and craveable as the processed foods most Americans consume every day. We will also discuss the types of cooking vessels and storage containers that are safest to use.

Come prepared to cook! Participants will make several cancer-starving recipes. At the end of each class, we will gather around the table and enjoy eating the fruits of our labor while having an opportunity to ask questions of the instructors.

This three part series will take place every Wednesday from September 12 through September 26.
Ages: 16 or older
Price: $65 for a single class or $60 per class if enrolling in the entire three part series.
