The Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation made a donation of $25,000 to the Entertainment Industry Foundation – which supports firefighters, first responders and the many people impacted by wildfires in California – as well as the American Red Cross’ local wildfire initiatives.
Fires have ravaged areas of northern and southern California. With 42 people confirmed dead and many more missing, the Camp Fire is already the deadliest wildfire the state has seen. Nearly 7,000 homes and building have been destroyed there, causing more damage than any wildfire in California’s history.
“The devastation and loss of life due to these fires is overwhelming, and help is needed,” said Peter Racine of the Jaguars Foundation. “This is an unusual response to an unusual situation, and it was important for us to support the brave efforts of so many first responders there, and those who have suffered loss.”
