20 Really Good People
A Life Spent Lifting Others, from the Beaches to Around the World
From flying relief into the Out Islands, to helping the depressed, the addicted, the lost, and the hurting find hope again, Jimbo Stockton is living the book he preaches.
Jimbo Stockton has never believed that ministry happens only from behind a pulpit. For him, service is action; compassion is a verb; and faith is something you prove by showing up.
As founder of Adventures in God’s Creation, Stockton has committed his life to saving others by renewing minds and transforming hearts through God’s wisdom and His unconditional love, grace and truth. Stockton’s mission touches people battling mental health issues, addictions, homelessness, depression, trauma and spiritual crisis, offering them not just refuge but the chance to heal, rebuild, renew and recover.
At the center of this work is the Beaches Rescue RECOVERY Mission, the first and only rescue mission in the Beaches communities. The Mission provides long-term free housing, free meals in conjunction with more than seven hours of positive, life-changing recovery training each day.

“Toxic enablement is killing and destroying lives. We are teaching, training and empowering broken-hearted people – giving them dignity – and changing their hearts from ‘have to improve’ to ‘want to improve,’” shared Stockton. “We are exposing the lies and revealing the truth that helps set people free, so they can get off the streets and experience life more abundantly.”
Many have described their experiences as lifesaving. This is why he’s so passionate about revealing these truths and solutions because Stockton knows first-hand that sometimes we don’t get a second chance to save a life.

His calling, however, has never been bound by geography. Through Island Crisis Flyers, he leads rapid response missions into the Out Islands and other hard-to-reach regions following hurricanes, earthquakes and humanitarian emergencies. He and his volunteers have delivered more than 100,000 pounds of emergency supplies and flown medical evacuations, food, rescue materials and teams into devastated communities that had no other access to help. Mission trips to Haiti, Africa, Central America and the wider Caribbean further extend the reach of his ministry.
Under Stockton’s leadership, Adventures in God’s Creation has provided more than 51,000 free nights of housing, 262,000 hours of recovery training, 217,000 meals, 1,500 counseling sessions and more than 100,000 volunteer hours. Seasonal initiatives like Feeding the 100s ensure that families and individuals in crisis are wrapped in love, nourishment, and given the opportunity for free recovery with free housing each Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.

What makes Jimbo Stockton remarkable is not only the volume of what he has built but the way he lives it. He refuses to profit from other people’s pain. All services remain free because, as he often reminds supporters, “There’s no greater ROI than saving a life – it’s a gift that gives eternally.”
His ministry stands as a refuge, a response and a restoration point for anyone who walks through its doors or meets him on any of the front lines.
What began as a humble effort guided by prayer has grown into a daily pathway to restoration.
“Being on the frontline, where everything is amplified has given me a clear revelation of what truly works and what doesn’t,” said Stockton. He is currently writing a book that Stockton said, “…breaks down the real problem and solutions to this global crisis with mental health issues, addictions and homelessness.”
Jimbo Stockton’s life is proof that one person, fully committed, can change entire communities. His mission continues to lift those who need it most, one restored heart at a time.
