The Museum of Science and History (MOSH) has fulfilled the $40 million fundraising obligation in its development agreement with the City of Jacksonville for the site of its new museum.

Launched in 2020, the MOSH Genesis campaign fund has received individual, corporate and nonprofit support, including $10 million from CSX, a $5 million appropriation in the 2024-25 state budget, $1.5 million from the Davis Family and many others.

“We are grateful to every supporter whose contribution has brought us to this first major milestone,” said MOSH Board of Trustees Vice Chair and campaign chair Jill Davis. “Building a project of this magnitude requires the unity of an entire community. Looking ahead, we are committed to raising additional funds from both private and public donors.”

The move to the Northbank will allow for an expansion from 33,000 square feet of exhibit space to 130,000 square feet across three stories.

With the fundraising requirement satisfied, MOSH CEO Dr. Alistair Dove said the museum will now focus on the building’s design, exhibits and interactive elements.
