Jacksonville Public Education Fund to host candidate forums ahead of school board elections

The Jacksonville Public Education Fund will host a series of free candidate forums this month to give residents an opportunity to hear the candidates speak on various issues. Registration is requested. To register, visit the JPEF website.

Candidate forums include:

District 1:

Thursday, July 25 — 6 p.m.

The Citadel Church (1057 Arlington Rd. N.)

District 3:

Tuesday, July 23 — 6:30 p.m.

Jessie Ball duPont Center (40 E. Adams St.)

District 5:

Tuesday, July 30 — 6 p.m.

Edward Waters University, Milne Auditorium (1658 Kings Rd.)

District 7:

Thursday, Aug. 1 — 6 p.m.

The Hopewell Church (3990 Loretto Rd.)


Four seats on the Duval County Public School Board are up for election next month for districts 1, 3, 5 and 7 and nine candidates have emerged following last month’s qualifying period. Candidates running for school board include:
