An ambitious five-year strategic growth plan at Pace Center for Girls will double the number of girls who can receive life-changing services over the next five years. Along with a major investment from the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation, the recently announced purchase of a 21,246-square-foot office building to serve as new headquarters will ultimately result in a cost savings for the nonprofit.
“We needed a space that would support our ambitious strategic growth and advocacy plan; serve as a learning center for girls and staff alike; and help raise awareness around the needs of our girls,” said Mary Marx, CEO, who stated the new space will allow donors to be a part of the growth via the capital campaign. “Jacksonville is where Pace Center for Girls was founded, so it was of paramount importance we keep the national office in the city that’s facilitated the growth and support of so many girls over three decades.”
Pace Center’s headquarters are currently located at 1 W. Adams Street. The new location, at 6745 Phillips Industrial Blvd., sites on 3.69 acres in the Phillips Commercial Park. Founded in 1985 in Jacksonville, Florida, Pace Center for Girls serves more than 3,000 at-risk girls annually in 20 centers throughout the state of Florida, including a location near Jacksonville University, at 2933 University Blvd. N.
