The nonprofit San Marco Preservation Society is seeking its first full-time executive director, building on the volunteer-driven organization’s efforts to preserve the neighborhood’s character, culture and heritage.

The new paid position comes as San Marco prepares to mark its centennial in 2025. The San Marco Preservation Society, meanwhile, will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026.

“We’ve had some great momentum with the organization, and there’s still a lot we’d like to do to raise the profile of San Marco,” said David Paulk, president of the board of directors. “Hiring an executive director will allow us to multiply our capabilities – and what better time to fill this role than as we get ready to mark San Marco’s 100th anniversary?”

Reporting to the SMPS board of directors, the executive director will oversee the organization’s operations, including program delivery, finance, administration, fundraising and communications. The job description lists the salary range as $70,000 to $80,000.

Applicants may submit a cover letter and resume to [email protected].
