For six decades, the team behind Wayne’s Fine Furniture and Bedding has done more than sell furniture; it has built a legacy on its commitment to creating spaces people love coming home to.
Charlie Ramos, partner and sales manager at Wayne’s Fine Furniture, has grown with the company, joining the team at just 17 years old and working his way up to the leadership positions he holds today. One of the most rewarding aspects of working for a business that prioritizes customer satisfaction above the bottom line, he said, is the opportunity to work with multiple generations of the same family.
“I’ve personally sold to all four generations of the same family,” Ramos said. “I’m selling to the daughter [now] who’s going to UF, and I sold to the great-grandmother when she was 45. Just imagine that.”
Operating out of the same location it’s had since the family-owned store first opened in 1967, Wayne’s Fine Furniture and Bedding has grown into a staple in Jacksonville’s Normandy neighborhood, upholding the same family values and principles it’s had since the beginning.

“I work with about 20 designers, so my styles are very current,” Ramos said. “I know current colors, but I also listen to my clients, because what’s popular in Miami may not be popular in Jacksonville, so I listen and put those two together – what my designers say and what my buyers say.”
