With Jacksonville situated along the beautiful St. Johns River, it seemed a natural next step for Bob Lyle to expand Shine On Mobile Detailing’s services to include watercraft.
The same care and attention the Shine On team devotes to vehicles is being carried over to the water, as Shine On now offers mobile detailing services for yachts, boats, and watercraft of all sizes. These services include installing System X Ceramic coating, which provides an extra layer of protection.
Lyle became a certified System X Ceramic Protection installer last year. Expanding his services to boats is a full-circle moment for him, in a sense – a throwback to another time.
“I lived on a sailboat for a year and a half down in Fort Lauderdale,” Lyle said. “I’ve been around the marine industry for a while.”
These new services are just one facet of the expansion of this family-owned business, which launched in 2024. Lyle is adding a second mobile detailing vehicle to his fleet, allowing Shine On to serve more clients. Lyle said this experience has been rewarding in more ways than one.
“It feels great to be moving forward in the areas I’d hoped to,” Lyle said. “I’m thankful that the detailing business with the cars is going really well, and now that I can expand a little more, it does feel great to know your 18-year-old son is watching you and is proud of you for starting a business and making it happen.”
Shine On Mobile Detailing will travel within a 30-mile radius and offers a basic wash and vacuum, full-service auto and boat detailing and paint correction.
