Ortega residents officially have a new dining spot as Oxford Place is now open for business seven nights a week.

Residents have eagerly awaited this new restaurant, which has replaced Simply Sara’s at 2902 Corinthian Avenue in the heart of Ortega Village. Bringing Oxford Place to life took nearly three years as the Brown Family lovingly restored the space within the 100-plus-year-old building.

“We really tried to stay true to the history of the building,” Hughes Brown said. “The inside ceiling is these beautiful wood rafters that are original [to the building]…It’s on the National Historic Register, it’s a flat-iron building, it’s a beautiful, beautiful space, so we’re really excited at how it all turned out.”

Oxford Place opened its doors on Friday, May 15. On May 31, it also launched its brunch menu on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m.
