Southeast Conservation & Construction Services builds with purpose in Jacksonville’s historic districts
Business Profile
In neighborhoods rich with Southern charm and history, preserving the past is more than a passion. It is a commitment. At Southeast Conservation & Construction Services, LLC, that commitment drives everything they do.
Based in Jacksonville, Southeast Conservation specializes in historic preservation contracting and high-quality traditional construction throughout the Southeast. Their mission is simple: steward irreplaceable cultural assets while delivering uncompromising craftsmanship on every project.

Founded by Tyler Douglas Lowe and Joseph Luycx, Southeast Conservation brings together decades of experience in general contracting, cultural resource management, Section 106 compliance, and classical architectural execution. Their team of archaeologists, skilled tradespeople, and preservation professionals offers a rare combination of technical skill and respect for history.

Leadership is a key strength of the company. With a Master of Letters in Ancient Cultures from the University of Glasgow and a Master of Arts in Antiquities from Johnson University, Tyler is also a Monuments Officer in the U.S. Army. Trained by the Smithsonian and U.S. Army Civil Affairs, Tyler specializes in protecting cultural property in conflict zones, bringing unique expertise to every project in Florida and beyond.
During his time in the military, Tyler met Joe, now a fellow U.S. Army Veteran and co-founder of SCCS. Joe adds critical depth to the team. With over 20 years of contracting experience and more than $600 million in completed projects, Joe has managed large-scale new construction and restoration work with precision. His certifications include OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety, HAZMAT 40-hour training, Lead Certification, and Construction Site Storm Water Inspection. Joe ensures Southeast Conservation’s projects are built safely, beautifully, and to the highest standard.

“Restoration work is about more than just construction – it is about understanding the life and legacy behind every structure,” Luycx said. “At Southeast Conservation, we approach each project with respect for the past and
a commitment to quality that will stand the test of time.”
For the past two years, SCCS has been trusted to protect and enhance some of Florida’s most treasured properties. Their detailed attention to technical excellence and cultural sensitivity sets them apart.
“Preservation is more than saving a structure – it is saving the stories, the craftsmanship, and the cultural memory embedded in each beam and brick,” Lowe said. “We do not just build; we safeguard legacies.”
